We made yummy cheese straws from scratch today.
We read the recipe, weighed out the ingredients and mixed them all together!

Day one on the Costa del Fusion. Sandcastles have been made and water has been paddled in! More excitement to come tomorrow 🏖

Hula Hula!! Fun outside in the sunshine this morning ☀
Rain Cloud Science Experiment.
Today we topped water with shaving foam and added food colouring to create the atmosphere.
We filled the cloud with coloured water and waited for it to fill up to make it rain!
We needed a bit of a cool down ….

Today at summer club we got to know each other by playing games and completing at All About Me activity!!
The paddling pool is out, the sun is out, the ice lollies are in the freezer… IT’S SUMMER CLUB!!!
Decorating tiles!! We planned our design and created our own tiles, they look fantastic and are very imaginative!
Ice smashing!! We hid items in water and froze it! It cooled us down and was such a fun activity!

Wednesday 25th July
At breakfast club we experimented using balloons. We made stress balls using water balloons inside and flour and created funny faces!
Vinegar, balloon and bi carbInate of soda!
We mixed these ingredients together to blow up a balloon through the chemical reaction

Hoop game made up by the children, a selfie on the slide, dancing with brooms and a sand castle village – Imagination is the best!
We made our own ID badges and decorated them! We had a lot of fraud Fusion Staff!!!

Monday 30th July
Week 2 at Fusion Summer Club! We made summer poems up and performed them to the group! What excellent rhyming!
At Fusion today we chiselled designs into breeze blocks and carved them out! What a fantastic job!

Today for lunch we are making our own pizzas!! We have delicious ham, salami, onion, peppers, cheese, tomato, mushroom and the very controversial PINEAPPLE!!!!

Today Oliver taught us some amazing origami skills! We practiced and practiced and they are nearly as good as Olly’s!

This morning we practiced playing Rugby. We learnt passing skills and how to kick the ball correctly. We used the kicking tees to kick with height and even did some drop Kicks!

Thursday 2nd August
This morning sports at Fusion Summer Club we completed obstacle courses and then played a pirate version of ‘Capture The Flag’! Everyone joined in and showed excellent team work!
Today we made delicious fruity and healthy smoothies!
We had mango, kale, berries, apples, bananas, oats, milk, yoghurt, avocado! We used the nutri bullet to mix and blend the smoothies!

Today at Fusion we made sensory bags. We filled them with oil, water, food colouring and all bits and bobs we could find! We stuck them back together and they feel amazing!! #sensory

When we made them we learned how to crack eggs. Everyone did really well

We decorated cd mobiles and hung them in the garden!

We only used a plate, skittles and warm water to create this amazing, colourful experiment.
The children worked in groups to place the skittles around the edge of the plate.
An adult poured the water into the middle of the plate and the magic began to happen.
As the skittles sat in the water the coloured shells began to melt and ran into the water.
Although the reaction was slow the children all enjoyed seeing the rainbow colours merge with each other.
*** the hotter the water, the faster the reaction***

This morning we used our team work to build a tower with spaghetti and marshmallows! We had 3 groups that won, tallest tower, best construction and most marshmallows used!

Lego letters! We used lego to paint our initials! 🎨🎨
Flapjacks! We measured and mixed all the ingredients and made flapjacks!
250g pats
125g butter
125g brown sugar
3 tbsp is golden syrup
Mix together and voila!
Today at Fusion we have made nature plates. We found items in the garden during the scavenger hunt and used them to make outdoor nature plates

We made and decorate wooden door hangers. We sanded the wood down and decorate using paints and pens!
We made a lava lamp turned volcano. We added oil to coloured water, then added Alker-seltzer and watched the reaction. We added more and more tablets until it bubbled over like a volcano.

Thursday 9th August
This morning we had a food and touch tasting! We had some delicious food like chocolate and oranges and brioche and some yucky food like baby cauliflower and carrot purée!!! We used our senses to find out what the items were!
Senses activity- taste, touch, smell- our sight was taken away!
Today we decorated pencil cases for our new classes in September- fantastic designs!

Today at Fusion we made chocolate cornflake cakes, they were chocalicious!

Summer Club 2018…. over and out!
We have had a fantastic 3 weeks and had lots of sun, fun and laughter. We have met lots of new children and families, some of which are coming in September but we wish all families a relaxing and happy summer.
