SOUTH AFRICA VISITOR – 23/10/15
A ginormous thank you to Lara and her mum for coming in and giving us a presentation about South Africa. We had a presentation and we learnt about food, culture, animals, watched a drumming/dancing video, taught us some South African language, and she bought some South African biscuits in for us to try! Thank you for giving up your time and coming in to speak to us. Best of luck in the rugby!

FRENCH VISITOR – 30/09/15
A big thank you to Mathilde, one of our lovely parents who came in and talked to us about France. We learnt about local produce, French books, games and even got a yummy slice of homemade brioche. We think the favourite question was ” do you drink a lot of wine?”. Thank you for giving up your time to speak to us.
CAFE OWNER – 28/01/15
We had a lovely visit from Matt and Izzie from Jay’s Deli in Southdown, who came in and spoke about their business and how it fits into our community. It was very informative and we learnt about coffee, cakes and cheese. We were even lucky enough to have some delicious lemon drizzle cake and chocolate brownies that Matt baked for us. He wouldn’t tell us his baking secrets, but they were DELICIOUS- the BEST EVER!
SOUTHDOWN VISIT – 26/01/15
We went on a trip into Southdown and had a look at all the different shops in our community and did a survey. When we got back, we made a map of Southdown and labelled all the shops. Whilst on our trip we even used the phone box to phone Fusion to ask if our dinner was ready and spoke about why we would and how we use a phone box. We then went to the charity shop and bought a few things for club-some items even fitted in with our topic- all for £3
PILOT – 15/01/15
As part of our topic of ‘People in our Community’, a we had one of our lovely parents in to talk to us about her clever and hard job as a pilot. She spoke to us about her; duties, uniform, planes in general, answered hundreds of questions, inspired us and took us on a flight (pretend). The flight was very bumpy but we all earnt our wings! We did some quizzes after, sorting activities and colouring. We also made paper aeroplanes.
PETS AT THERAPY – 17/11/14
We had Jane and her black Labrador, Freddie from Pets As Therapy come and visit us. Jane explained how Freddie visits lots of people and provides this provides them with therapy. The children listened beautifully, asked Jane lots of questions and then had lots of cuddles from Freddie.
