ROALD DAHL DAY
Roald Dahl Week
Look what we have been up to this….
The Dream Catchers are from the BFG. Did you know Native Americans believed that at night the air was filled with dreams, both good and bad. They would hang the dream catcher over their beds. They had to be careful that daylight could reach it. As its name suggests, it attracts and then catches in its web all kinds of dreams and thoughts.
We made violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as she blows up bigger and BIGGER!

Supertato!
What’s your super power?
There’s an evil pea on the loose in the supermarket, causing havoc wherever he goes! He has sticky-plastered poor carrot to the conveyor belt and drawn a moustache and glasses on broccoli, and poor old cucumber has been mummified with a bandage! Still, try to calm your frayed nerves because, never fear, Supertato is here to save the day!
SPACE TORTOISE
This week we have been making cakes! We practiced different types of icing and frosting using different methods.
Did you know….
The term ‘cupcake’ was originally used in the late 19th century for cakes made from ingredients measured by the cupful. The traditional pound cake recipe was easy to remember for its pound of butter, a pound of sugar, a pound of flour, and a pound of eggs. Likewise, the name “cupcake” comes from how the recipe was measured: 1 cup butter, 2 cups sugar, 3 cups flour, and 4 eggs.!
