Remembrance Day-Do you know why we use poppies as a symbol? – Poppies are used for Remembrance Day because they grew in the devastated battlefields of World War I after the fighting ended. A Canadian doctor, Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, was inspired by the sight of these bright red flowers

Wow what a fabulous afternoon we have had at the allotment with a visit from the Mayor of Harpenden. She kindly awarded us our Bronze award and came for a tour of our plot! Thank you for coming and seeing our hard work! Harpenden Town Council
